FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Is There A Charge For Valuations?

No. All valuations are completely free of charge, whether you visit one of our roadshows, arrange a home appointment, or visit us in person.

We'll assess your items and provide a no-obligation offer. If you decide not to sell, that's absolutely fine — there are no fees, hidden costs, or commitments.

How Long Will My Valuation Take?

Most valuations take between 15 and 30 minutes, depending on the number and type of items you bring.

If you have a larger collection, don't worry. Our team will take the time needed to properly assess everything, and there is no limit on the number of items you can bring for valuation.

How Do You Calculate My Offer?

Our specialists examine each item individually and explain the valuation process clearly.

Factors that may influence an offer include:

* Age and rarity
* Condition
* Materials and precious metal content
* Craftsmanship and maker's marks
* Current market demand
* Collectability and resale potential

We believe in complete transparency and are happy to explain how we arrived at our valuation.

What Happens If I Accept The Offer?

If you choose to sell, we'll complete the necessary paperwork and issue a receipt for your records.

Payment will be made immediately, either in cash (where available) or by bank transfer. Once the transaction is complete, we take ownership of the items and assume all responsibility for their future resale.

How And When Will I Receive Payment?

Accepted offers are paid on the same day.

Depending on the circumstances, payment can be made in cash or by bank transfer. Bank transfers are typically processed immediately and usually clear the same business day.

To comply with legal requirements and protect both parties, we will need to record some contact details before payment can be issued.

What If I Decide Not To Sell?

That's completely your choice.

Our valuations are offered on a no-pressure basis, and there is never any obligation to accept an offer. If you decide not to proceed, simply take your items home with you.

We do not charge valuation fees, apply penalties, or pressure customers into making a sale.

What Should I Bring To A Roadshow?

Bring along any items you'd like our experts to assess.

Whether it's a single piece of jewellery, a collection of antiques, or a box of mixed valuables, we'll be happy to take a look.

What If I'm Unsure Whether My Items Are Suitable?

If you're not sure whether we purchase a particular item, bring it along or contact us before the event.

Our team will always give honest advice. If an item falls outside our area of expertise or isn't something we currently purchase, we'll let you know.

There is no cost or obligation involved in finding out.

Would I Be Better Selling Through An Auction House?

That depends on the item.

Our service is designed for people who want a straightforward valuation, an immediate offer, and same-day payment without the uncertainty of waiting for a future sale.

Auction houses can sometimes achieve strong results, particularly for rare or specialist items, but the process may involve waiting weeks or months for a sale to complete and often includes seller's fees and commissions.

Our experts will always provide honest guidance. If we believe an item may be better suited to auction or another specialist route, we'll tell you. We have strong relationships with auction houses and industry specialists throughout the UK and are happy to point customers in the right direction when appropriate.
